understanding

I am a second-year math teacher in an urban public charter school, and this is my journal.

I have been writing here since I started teaching last year. The back story is one of my first posts and gives, well, the back story. I don’t mention the name of my school, it’s location, nor the names of any students or staff to protect them as well as myself. However many of my friends read and comment with this knowledge, and I thank them for protecting my limited anonymity. I’ve gotten a lot of good ideas, moral support, and intellectual challenge from reading the blogs of other teachers. I hope that this provides the same for my fellow teachers, as well as a small window into what’s going on in public schools today for anyone who is interested.
